According to “Dozor” on Pershyi Kozatskyi, the case involves an illegal “assembly” and document falsification.
On February 6, 2025, the Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC reported that a raider seizure of the UOC church in honor of St. Basil the Great and Martyr Basilissa is being prepared in Chernivtsi, dozor_kozak1 reports.
In a video published on a Telegram channel, a priest from the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC stated that on Sunday, February 9, representatives of the OCU are planning to seize the UOC church on Yuzhno-Okruzhna Street in Chernivtsi.
According to Dozor, the plan involves an illegal “assembly” and falsified documents to initiate the re-registration of the parish.
Reports indicate that the actions of the raiders are being coordinated by Roman Hryshchuk, a serial organizer of church takeovers for the OCU, along with his associates. It is noted that activists are being gathered in pre-arranged locations in Chernivtsi.
Clergy and parishioners of the UOC church are calling on Orthodox Christians for prayer and support.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Roman Hryshchuk had publicly assured that he is mentally stable.
