Rock concert "Evening of Memory" held at Lviv Greek Catholic church
A live orchestra performed on the soleas of the church, with sound and lighting equipment, including spotlights and light guns, set up there.
On 4 April 2025, a rock concert "Evening of Memory" took place at the St. Peter and Paul Church of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) in Lviv. The event was dedicated to commemorating Ukrainians who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war. It was organised as part of the opening of the "Lviv – European Youth Capital 2025" year, as reported by Dyvys.
The concert featured Ukrainian rock and pop artists, including "Braty Hadiukiny," Misha Pravilniy, Zhenia Halich (O. Torvald), YARMAK, and others.
A live orchestra performed on the soleas of the church, and sound and lighting equipment, including spotlights and light guns, were set up. The text of the songs and the names of the fallen heroes were projected onto the church's dome.
One of the most famous songs performed at the concert was "We Are the Boys from Bandershtat" by the band "Braty Hadiukiny." The song includes lines that can be translated as the following: "Moms and dads broke so many beds so that the stork would bring us into the world of God."
The UGCC saw nothing inappropriate in holding the concert inside the church. Before the concert began, the clergy of the church performed a litany.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a song and dance ensemble performed at the Refectory Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
