Dumenko: The enemy has destroyed Ukranian liturgical language for centuries
Epifaniy assured that "imperial invaders" burned Ukrainian liturgical literature.
On International Mother Language Day, the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Epifaniy Dumenko, stated on his Facebook page that "the Gospel’s teachings can only be fully understood in our native language."
He asserted that when the Church addresses believers in a "foreign, lifeless language," it "eliminates the mystical connection, understanding, trust, and faith."
According to him, this was exactly the goal of "all those imperial invaders." Dumenko is convinced that they spent centuries humiliating the Ukrainian language and burning Ukrainian-language liturgical books. However, he did not specify who used Ukrainian-language liturgical texts for centuries or when they were burned.
Previously, the UOJ reported that while in the United States, Dumenko hinted at the need for Ukraine to regain nuclear weapons.
