The Holy Dormition Cathedral of the UOC has been sealed by police, but activists of the OCU continue their attempts to enter the church.

The Kriukiv District Court of Kremenchuk reviewed a motion filed by the prosecutor of the Kremenchuk District Prosecutor’s Office to seize property – 13 concrete blocks that were confiscated on January 11, 2025, from the territory of the Holy Dormition Church, which OCU supporters have transferred to their jurisdiction, according to the Kremenchuk Gazette.

These blocks were found at the entrances to the church, obstructing access to the building. The court granted the prosecutor's motion and ordered the seized property to be treated as instruments of a crime, mandating the immediate enforcement of the decision.

The investigation into this case is being conducted by the Kremenchuk District Police Department as part of criminal proceedings initiated due to the refusal of the UOC community to hand over the keys to the Dormition Cathedral to the chairman of the OCU parish council. While the church has been sealed by the police, OCU representatives continue their efforts to gain entry. Investigators believe that these construction blocks, which were used to block access to the church, may play a key role in further forensic examinations and the ongoing investigation.

As reported by the UOJ, on October 17, numerous parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church defended the Dormition Cathedral in Kremenchuk from an attempted raid. However, the building was ultimately sealed by the police.
