Vatican Secretary of State to visit Ukraine on a mission from Pope Francis
Political analyst Bondarenko believes that the Vatican representative "will bring something important".
On July 21, 2024, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin will represent Pope Francis at the Marian Shrine in Berdychiv, Ukraine. According to the vaticannews website, the pontiff has entrusted Parolin with a special mission.
The essence of this mission is to "urge all participants of this event to tirelessly pray to the Queen of Peace for the end of the war in Ukraine and in all parts of the world."
The Pope also asks his representative to convey "goodwill and spiritual closeness during this extremely difficult time for the beloved people of Ukraine."
Political analyst and historian Kostiantyn Bondarenko considers this a "significant visit" of the most influential figure in the Vatican.
"We expect that Monsignor Parolin will come to Ukraine not only to hold a mass in the Berdychiv church but also to bring something important," Bondarenko wrote on his Telegram channel.
As the UOJ previously reported, the Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine, Archbishop Visvaldas Kulbokas, stated that the Vatican Secretary of State might have talks with the President's Office.
