UOC church sealed in Boryslav after parishioners refuse to defect to OCU
The authorities have allowed OCU "priests" to serve a prayer service in the churchyard tomorrow.
On April 8, 2023, the city council of Boryslav, Lviv region, sealed off the Intercession Church of the UOC after the parishioners and clergy refused to defect to the OCU, reports the governor of the Lviv region, Maxim Kozitsky on his TG channel.
According to him, today under the temple gathered activists "and once again appealed to the clergy and parishioners with a proposal to go to the OCU".
"However, some of the parishioners refused. At a meeting of an extraordinary session of the city council it was decided to temporarily seal the church," Kozitsky wrote.
Kozitsky recalled that the functioning of the UOC on the territory of Boryslav was banned by a decision of the session of the Boryslav city council in May 2022.
At the same time, OCU "priests" will be allowed into the churchyard tomorrow to serve a prayer service on Palm Sunday.
As reported, the NSDC welcomed the demolition of the UOC church in Lviv.
