In Hamburg, UOC church rector concelebrates with Bulgarian Church hierarch
The service at the Bulgarian parish in Germany was led by Metropolitan Anthony of Western and Central Europe.
On April 5, 2025, at the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Hamburg, Germany, a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church concelebrated with the metropolitan of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church during an evening service, according to the UOC's DECR website, citing the official website of the Bulgarian Church.
Archpriest Ioann Sukhoniak, rector of the UOC's Intercession parish in Hamburg, participated in the service at the invitation of Fr. Yakov Sturm, rector of the Bulgarian Cyril and Methodius parish.
The joint service, which included the reading of an Akathist before the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, was led by Metropolitan Anthony of Western and Central Europe.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the Bulgarian Church’s metropolitan condemned the desecration of relics at the Lavra.
