On Lazarus Saturday, His Beatitude celebrates Liturgy at Kyiv Caves Lavra

On April 12, 2025, Lazarus Saturday, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine officiated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of St. Agapitus at the Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the monastery's press service reports.

Concelebrating with the Primate were Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Chancellor of the UOC, Bishop Lavr of Irpin, Bishop Mark of Borodianka, clergy of the Lavra, and visiting priests.

During the fervent litany, special petitions were offered to the Lord for peace in Ukraine and deliverance from the enemy. The Primate prayed for God's mercy on the Ukrainian people – that the Lord would grant wisdom to the authorities, courage to the soldiers, freedom to the captives, healing to the sick, and shelter to those who are homeless.

After the dismissal, the Primate addressed the faithful with a sermon. His Beatitude congratulated everyone on completing the sixth week of Great Lent and spoke about the righteous Lazarus, whom the Lord raised from the dead on the fourth day. He concluded by wishing all the faithful to attain the Bright Resurrection of Christ through the prayers of the righteous Lazarus.
