At the same time, the OCU managed to gather three times fewer supporters in an attempt to seize the shrine from believers.

On March 1, 2025, parishioners of the UOC’s Pokrovsky (Intercession) Church in Khotyn, Bukovyna, gathered to defend their sacred site. According to the Dozor Telegram channel, 1,300 Orthodox Christians unanimously confirmed their desire to remain within the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Meanwhile, OCU raiders gathered around 400 activists in an attempt to take the church away from its faithful congregation.

"The parish has demonstrated that it does not intend to leave the Church and wishes to remain under the omophorion of His Beatitude Onuphry," the report states.

As previously reported by the UOJ, in Panka, nearly 600 parishioners of St. Demetrius Church reaffirmed their loyalty to the UOC.
