The perpetrator is being sought by the police.
In Lviv, police are searching for a suspect who extinguished a Jewish Hanukkah menorah, reports Suspilne.
A video circulating on social media shows the perpetrator approaching the lit menorah and damaging the power cable, causing the menorah to go dark.
The police have launched an investigation under Article 178 of the Criminal Code (Damage to Religious Structures or Places of Worship). The penalties include a fine of up to 454,200 UAH, community service for 60 to 240 hours, arrest for up to six months, or restriction or deprivation of freedom for up to three years.
The damaged menorah had been installed for the first time in decades at the site of a synagogue destroyed by the Nazis.
