Tithe Church demolished in Kyiv

Law enforcers are trying to detain the monastery's brethren.

During the night of May 16th to 17th, buses with police and military personnel approached the Tithe (Desiatynna) Church of the UOC, as reported by the Tithe Monastery's Telegram channel.

22:38. "We ask for prayers and physical assistance from anyone who can come!" wrote the monastery's Telegram channel.

Later, there was a message that law enforcement officers were trying to detain the monastery's brethren.

23:00. According to the Dozor_kozak1 Telegram channel, the entire territory of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine is currently surrounded by police and individuals in military uniform. All approaches and stairs are blocked and cordoned off.

It is reported that some transport was evacuated from the territory.

The brethren of the Tithe Monastery of the UOC have so far been unable to enter the Vladimir-Olga Church.

23:19. Empty trucks arrived at the territory of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine.

23:28. UOC lawyer Archpriest Nikita Chekman wrote in his Telegram channel that the church had started to be demolished using special equipment.

23:43. Witnesses reported that mobile communication was jammed near the National Museum of the History of Ukraine, where the Tithe Monastery is located. The entire perimeter of the mountain, where the church is located, is cordoned off by the police. The sound of bulldozers can be heard.

23:58. The police of dialogue in the cordon are not allowing anyone to enter the territory of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine.

00:20. Trucks began to remove debris. "The church, which was consecrated by His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr and His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, no longer exists...," wrote the monastery's Telegram channel.

As reported by the UOJ, in Kyiv on the evening of May 6th, believers gathered at the Tithe (Desiatynna) Church, which the authorities promised to demolish on the morning of May 7th, to prevent unlawful actions and pray for peace on our land.
