UOC bishop visits frontline units with spiritual and humanitarian mission
The clergy delivered aid and gifts from children and organised concerts for soldiers and residents of the frontline zone.
The head of the Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for Interaction with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Metropolitan Augustine, headed a spiritual and humanitarian mission in which priests of the UOC and volunteers of the Petro Kalnyshevskyy Foundation for Support of Defenders of Ukraine visited frontline military units, reports the Military Department of the UOC.
The clergymen congratulated the servicemen on Ukraine’s Defenders Day and delivered aid to them: a specially equipped off-road pick-up truck, a reconnaissance drone, special means, military ammunition, medicines, food and tasty treats. Assistance was provided to four combat units of the Ukrainian army, a medical battalion, which is located in one of the hottest spots, and a military hospital.
In addition, the mission participants brought letters of congratulations to the soldiers from the pupils of the Sunday school of the Annunciation Cathedral in Kropyvnytskyi and pillows sewn by children.

A special feature of this mission was the concerts of Archpriest Oleksandr Klimenko, the winner of the TV project "The Voice of the Country". The priest performed in the military units, as well as for the residents of frontline settlements. Some of the performances were open-air and unannounced, but they were a great success.
As reported, in early October, military chaplains of the Kyiv Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, together with volunteers from the Petro Kalnyshevsky Foundation, visited the military units with spiritual and humanitarian aid.
